Who can enter?

Entries are open to everyone aged between 4-19 years of age from the Republic or Northern Ireland.

Those who enter are representing themselves and their School/Coderdojos/Education Centres.

Entrants may enter as an individual, as a group of up three or as class/school (if you are entering representing your school). For a full description of the different age groups, click here.

Why enter?

It’s great fun to design your own website or web app and it is also a very useful skill to have.

There will be influential business people from the technology and web industry at the awards and it will be great to put on your CV.

How do I enter?

Choose which category you wish to enter, then fill out the online entry form.

All entries need to have your teacher/parent/supervisors contact name and number, or the entry will not qualify.

Do not post in your entry, all entries are sent in online.

Is there a cost to enter?

No, it is free to enter the awards!

What are the categories for the awards?

Can I enter in multiple categories?

Yes, a website may be entered into as many categories as it is applicable to. However, if the judges feel that your entry would fit more appropriately into another category, they may decide to move it as to give you the best chance of winning.

Is there a limit to the number of categories a school/CoderDojos/Education Centers can enter?

No there is no limit Schools/CoderDojos/Education Centres can also enter any given category as many times as they like.

When is the opening/closing date for entries?

Closing Date for entries is Wednesday March 8th 2017.

How does the judging process work?

There is a panel of judges that will assess each entry based on a list of criteria. They will then create a shortlist of the top entries and then announce the winner at the awards ceremony.

Our panel of judges provide a spectrum of expertise in areas covering web design, education and ICT.

When and where will the awards be held?

The awards will be held in Dublin in April/May 2017 (Venue and Date TBC)

How can I share information about the event with my friends?

There are many ways to let your friends know about the eir Junior Spiders awards. A great way is to talk about your projects with your friends and show them your website.

If you like the Junior Spiders Facebook page, you can share the page with your friends and then they can get up-to-date information about the event.
