Our website was set up to help the current, and maybe future, junior cert students study for the upcoming exams and to also give them an idea of what they might be doing in fourth year.
When Nicole, Sarah and I sat down to figure out an idea for our website the first thing that popped into our head was a 4th year website.We soon found out most of the other groups in our class were making 4th year websites too, so we had to make up a different idea. We all knew the stresses of the junior cert and how parents ,teachers and peers can put pressure on you without realising. So the idea of helping the 3rd years was born.
We thought that just helping the 3rd years was too plain and ordinary, it needed a to be a bit different to the other studying websites that were abundant to the 3rd years.We decided to not just focus on the junior cert , that would become boring after a while, but show them what might come in 4th year so they can have a little glimpse of it. Our class found a great website maker and our teacher set us to work.
So every Monday at big lunch we set to work on our websites. We split the topics between us . Sarah on our 4th year play, Nicole on the years activities and me on the most important study tips.
We would update the website whenever we had to. Nicole would update hers whenever we did something , Sarah would write if anything new happened in the play and I would update mine every term.We set up a forum where 3rd years could ask us questions. We would answer them as best we could.
We were thrilled that we won the spider awards and couldn’t believe our luck. Since the awards we have still updated our study tips and we have gotten great feedback from our visitors. Many have bookmarked and signed our guestbook. Some as far away as America!
